This position is located onsite in College Station, Texas
The Texas A&M Foundation is seeking a Development Officer to support the Corps of Cadets, with flexibility to hire at the level of Associate Development Officer, Assistant Director of Development, or Director of Development depending on the selected candidate’s experience, skillset, and demonstrated success in fundraising.
In this role, you will serve as an ambassador of the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M University, helping unite donor generosity with university priorities in support of the Corps of Cadets. Across all levels, this position plays a critical role in building meaningful donor relationships, advancing philanthropic support, and aligning donor passions with impactful opportunities that strengthen the Corps and its mission.

What You’ll Do...
As a Development Officer supporting the Corps of Cadets, you will serve as a frontline fundraising professional responsible for advancing philanthropic support and strengthening donor relationships. In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with the Foundation’s priorities and the Corps of Cadets’ mission and objectives
- Cultivate, solicit, and close major and principal gifts in support of Corps priorities, programs, and strategic initiatives
- Partner closely with Corps leadership, university partners, and Foundation colleagues to identify philanthropic opportunities and translate needs into compelling cases for support
- Lead stewardship efforts to ensure donors feel valued, informed, and meaningfully connected to the impact of their philanthropy
- Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, maintaining strong relationships through personalized outreach and consistent engagement
- Collaborate across development teams to ensure alignment, data integrity, and coordinated donor strategies
- Represent the Foundation and the Corps of Cadets at donor meetings, events, and campus engagements as needed

- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, sales, or a related relationship-driven field, with level determined based on years of experience and demonstrated outcomes:
- Associate Development Officer: 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Assistant Director of Development: 2–3 years of relevant experience
- Director of Development: 3 years of relevant experience, with a track record of progressively responsible fundraising or strategic relationship management
- Proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with a wide range of constituents
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a consultative and donor-centric approach
- Master’s degree.
- Involvement with the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or comparable professional certification.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit advancement.
- Demonstrated success in securing principal gifts and managing high-level donor relationships.
- Demonstrate the attributes and behaviors of a Passionate Professional Dedicated to Purposeful Philanthropy.

- Contribute to team effectiveness through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and proactive identification of process improvements.
