We’re offering a unique opportunity to support a remarkable young woman on the Autism Spectrum as she embarks on her journey into adulthood. This recent high school graduate is brimming with potential, and we believe the sky's the limit. We’re looking for a dedicated, patient, and compassionate mentor to guide her through this exciting transition.
About the Role:
Our young graduate is a non-speaker who has made incredible strides using SPELLERS, a facilitated communication method. With a focus on apraxia and motor planning, experience in Occupational Therapy (OT) or Physical Therapy (PT) would be a valuable asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with her in a respectful and empowering manner, presuming competence at all times.
- Adapt to and learn her unique communication style.
- Assist with hygiene and daily living activities.
- Accompany her on community outings and volunteer activities to foster friendships and community involvement.
Requirements:
- PA Criminal Background Clearance and FBI Clearance (if residing outside PA within the last 2 years).
- A clean driving record is essential.
Available Shifts:
- Monday , Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
