Warehouse Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead a high-volume pharmaceutical warehouse and distribution operation. This role is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing operational performance, and developing a large team across multiple shifts and leadership levels.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmaceutical warehousing, inventory management, FDA-regulated operations, serialization and track-and-trace processes, and product disposition activities. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring exceptional people management, operational excellence, and a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a workforce of approximately 50 employees, including:
- Assistant Managers
- Supervisors
- Team Leads
- Administrative and Clerical Staff
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GMP standards, internal SOPs, and quality system requirements.
- Manage inventory control processes for a diverse portfolio of approximately 1,000 SKUs, including both domestic and imported products.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee product movement throughout the warehouse and distribution network.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical serialization and track-and-trace requirements.
- Oversee product disposition activities, including quarantine, destruction, and documentation of expired, obsolete, or non-conforming inventory.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, safety, and customer service.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to support organizational objectives.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning across multiple shifts.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all workplace safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of warehouse leadership experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, life sciences, or other FDA-regulated environment.
- Proven success managing large warehouse teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations, GMP requirements, and pharmaceutical distribution best practices.
- Experience with serialization, DSCSA compliance, track-and-trace systems, and regulated inventory management.
- Experience overseeing product disposition, destruction, and documentation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through multiple levels of management and supervision.
- Expertise in inventory control, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and distribution operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution environments.
- Experience managing both imported and domestically manufactured product inventories.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), automation technologies, and inventory optimization tools.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications or training.
- Experience implementing process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
