Position Overview
The Regulatory & Compliance Senior Analyst serves as a key owner of product regulatory registrations, compliance documentation, and regulatory readiness across all retail and international markets. This role acts as the central point of contact for regulatory requirements, working cross‑functionally with Product Development, Sales, Operations, external manufacturers, and third‑party regulatory consultants.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring products are compliant at all stages—from new product launches to existing formula updates—while supporting the company’s continued global expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for all regulatory and compliance programs, certifications, and registration requirements
- Partner with New Product Development (NPD), Existing Product Modifications (EPM), and external regulatory consultants to ensure ongoing compliance with retailer, state, federal, and international regulations
- Communicate directly with contract manufacturers and raw‑material suppliers to collect and maintain regulatory documentation and health registration paperwork
- Monitor and manage regulatory watch lists, customer compliance portals, and industry announcements; proactively communicate regulatory changes to leadership and product teams
- Maintain and manage existing certifications and registrations, including sustainability, cruelty‑free, recycling, and trade organizations; identify new opportunities where applicable
- Provide ingredient disclosures, formula documentation, SDS, and compliance paperwork to retailers, sales teams, customer service, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain and update Master Ingredient Lists and Banned Substance Lists
- Review product packaging and artwork to ensure ingredient accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate international product registrations, including Certificates of Free Sale, Certificates of Origin, and consular authentication processes
- Track country‑specific documentation requirements and manage updates when formulas or regulations change
- Act as point person for retailer‑specific and customer data requests, including WERCS, DataSync, SDS platforms, Certificates of Analysis, and account setup documentation
Qualifications & Background
The ideal candidate brings a blend of regulatory knowledge, organizational strength, and cross‑functional communication skills, and will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (science‑based exposure a plus)
- 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance, product development support, quality, legal, or related roles within consumer goods, beauty, personal care, fashion, or CPG
- Strong interest in regulatory affairs and product compliance in a consumer‑facing environment
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple, deadline‑driven projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interfacing across departments and with external partners
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
- Self‑starter mentality with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and shared document platforms (e.g., Dropbox)
- Experience with or willingness to learn WERCS, DataSync, and retailer compliance portals
- Notary Public certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus
