What You’ll Do
As a Principal Metallurgist, you’ll serve as a technical leader and strategic problem-solver, supporting both internal teams and external customers.
- Lead complex metallurgical investigations, including non-conforming material (RMRs, claims, off-spec product)
- Drive alloy and process development initiatives, from concept through production
- Manage and lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring delivery on scope, budget, and timelines
- Apply statistical methods, DOE, SPC, and Six Sigma tools to improve performance and eliminate inefficiencies
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
- Partner directly with customers—providing training, education, and technical guidance
- Identify and communicate technical risks, business trends, and innovation opportunities
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence across manufacturing processes
What You Bring
- 8 years of experience in metallurgical or materials engineering environments
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or related field
- Strong expertise in metallurgical principles, production processes, and failure analysis
Preferred:
- Proven experience with alloy development, process optimization, and manufacturing support
- Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis, Six Sigma, BPI, and experimental design
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and mentor technical teams
- Strong understanding of industrial equipment, materials performance, and emerging technologies
- Exceptional communication skills with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to anticipate technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions

Salary : $115,000 - $120,000
