We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead plant engineering functions at our Florence-area manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving capital projects, supporting ongoing operations, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant engineering practices in a metals manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, a background in capital project execution, and deep technical expertise in metals processing or heavy manufacturing.
- Plan, direct, and oversee all aspects of engineering activities across the facility
- Lead facility expansion and capacity addition projects, including budgeting, planning, and execution
- Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring timelines, scope, and budgets are met
- Oversee procurement and implementation of new processes, technologies, and equipment
- Provide engineering support to ongoing plant operations to drive reliability and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
- Ensure all engineering projects align with project management methodologies, policies, and objectives
- Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational issues within manufacturing
- Lead and support continuous improvement and business optimization initiatives
- Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, EHS, and leadership
- Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging needs and opportunities
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial, or related discipline required)
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 7 years of management experience leading engineering or technical teams
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience working with metals manufacturing processes (e.g., specialty alloys, steel, forging, casting, or related)
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and best practices
- Experience ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Ability to apply business and financial acumen to achieve operational objectives
- Strong project management and execution skills
- Experience implementing and driving Lean Manufacturing principles, including Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
