What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Equity Senior Associate & Vice President position at Tenfold Search & Advisory?
We’re working exclusively on a Senior Associate and Vice President search for a high-performing private equity fund based in Washington, D.C.
The firm has built a strong track record investing in high-growth, technology-driven businesses. The team is known for scaling platforms early and driving successful exits across digital infrastructure, business services, and tech-enabled sectors.
This is a true career-track opportunity. The hire will step into a core investing role with clear progression toward senior responsibility. You will own critical workstreams across the full deal lifecycle, from diligence and execution through active portfolio value creation. The team is lean, highly collaborative, and expects investors to think and operate like long-term owners.
The firm’s investment approach is relationship-first and operator-oriented. Investors work closely with senior leadership to validate markets, shape investment theses, build conviction, and execute with precision from entry through value realization. A significant portion of capital is deployed into proprietary, internally sourced opportunities, often alongside executives who have successfully partnered with the firm in prior investments.
The platform has the flexibility to invest across early-stage growth, platform build-outs, and larger buyout situations, allowing for stage-agnostic, high-conviction investing.
*Applicants must have a combination of investment banking and equity investment experience.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Sub-sector focus. Deep specialization in high-growth technology verticals.
- Proprietary deal flow. A large share of capital is deployed into internally developed or directly sourced opportunities.
- Repeat executives. Many investments are led by management teams with prior portfolio success at the firm.
- Stage flexibility. Ability to invest across early growth, platform build-outs, and larger-scale buyouts.
- Operator mindset. Investors are close to the work, not just the process.
The Role
You will play a central role in evaluating, executing, and managing investments.
- Own key workstreams across diligence, execution, and post-close value creation.
- Partner closely with management teams and advisors.
- Contribute to thesis development and underwriting, not just execution.
- Mentor junior team members while working directly with partners.
What They’re Looking For
- Senior Associate or Vice President with meaningful deal ownership.
- Strong financial and technical skills with comfort in underwriting infrastructure and technology assets.
- Experience leading workstreams, not just supporting them.
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfort operating with autonomy in a lean team.
- Collaborative, low-ego working style.
- Clear commitment to building a long-term career in Washington, D.C.
Requirements:
- 5 years of transaction experience, including at least two years in pre-MBA investment banking and 2–3 years on the buy side (private equity, growth equity, or principal investing).
- Direct execution experience in digital infrastructure, industrials, software, tech-enabled services, or business services.
- Proven ability to lead workstreams and guide junior team members.
- Strong financial modeling and quantitative skills.
- Clear, direct communication with solid writing ability.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
