Position Summary
Schedule Hours: Monday - Friday 11:30Pm - 7:30AM
The General Laborer will support distribution center operations by working on a sorting machine and performing manual material handling tasks. This role involves hand-sorting wooden pallets, boxes, plastic bins, and other materials while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with sorting machine processes
- Hand-sort wooden pallets and other materials
- Stack materials appropriately and follow supervisor instructions
- Load and unload materials manually
- Move materials on pallets or in crates throughout the facility
- Inspect loads to ensure they are properly secured
- Examine products to verify compliance with quality standards
- Perform additional general labor duties as assigned
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and exposure to air particulates
- Frequently lift 50–75 pounds repetitively
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts
- Frequent use of hands to handle, reach, and feel materials
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear throughout the shift
- Good balance and strong hand-eye-foot coordination required
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
- Noise levels vary depending on work location
Additional Requirements
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (eye protection; ear protection mandatory in certain areas; safety shoes required)
- Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed
