Warehouse Forklift Operator

The Warehouse Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in efficiently moving pallets and materials throughout the Distribution Center and Reverse Logistics Center. This position supports production requirements and handles loading and unloading customer trailers, ensuring materials are transported safely and accurately. Operators may also perform manual sorting of pallets depending on the location. Safety, precision, and productivity are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move pallets and materials between designated areas safely and efficiently
• Position forks or lifting apparatus under or around loads for secure transport
• Load and unload customer trailers in compliance with company procedures
• Stack and organize materials by raising and lowering the lifting device
• Follow company safety standards at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
• Meet production targets while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Perform manual pallet sorting (Power-Sort) in applicable locations

Required Qualifications

• Good math, language, and reading skills with strong attention to detail
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong focus on safety to prevent injury and maintain a safe workspace
• Ability to follow instructions for record keeping
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and flexible shifts as required
• Successful completion of background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certificate or formal training preferred but not required

Work Environment

• Exposure to extreme conditions including heat, cold, and airborne particulates
• Physical requirements include frequent bending, stooping, walking, turning, pivoting, and standing for extended shifts
• Long periods of sitting while operating forklift
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye and ear protection and safety shoes is mandatory in many locations
• Must have good balance and eye-hand-foot coordination, along with close, distance, and color vision
• Occasional manual lifting of pallets weighing 50 to 75 pounds
• Noise levels vary depending on location
