Summary:
Seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam (2020 or newer) and SolidWorks for precision machining of large industrial components. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality to improve machining efficiency, reduce setup time, and ensure high-quality manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and optimize CNC programs from SolidWorks models and engineering drawings.
- Program, set up, and support large CNC boring mills, vertical turning centers, and lathes.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications to develop efficient machining processes.
- Design tooling and fixtures, optimize cutting parameters, and troubleshoot machining issues.
- Verify programs, perform in-process inspections, and ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain accurate production documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, CNC Programming, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of machining experience with horizontal boring mills and lathes.
- 5 years of CNC programming experience using Siemens, Fanuc, G & L 800, and G & L 8000 controls.
- Proficient in Mastercam (2020 ), SolidWorks, G-code, blueprint reading, GD&T, tooling, and fixture design.
- Experience with large-part machining or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred. Gear manufacturing experience is a plus.
