Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to manage complex civil and commercial litigation matters from case inception through trial. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom experience, exceptional legal writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to independently handle high-value litigation matters while collaborating with attorneys and legal support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex civil and commercial litigation cases from intake through resolution or trial.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
- Handle depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
- Develop case strategies, evaluate litigation risks, and recommend legal solutions.
- Draft and argue substantive motions before state and federal courts.
- Prepare clients, witnesses, and expert witnesses for depositions and trial.
- Review contracts, evidence, and legal documents to support case development.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients during dispute resolution proceedings.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and litigation support staff to ensure effective case management.
- Maintain strong client relationships by providing strategic legal guidance and regular case updates.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar license in good standing.
- Minimum litigation experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and court proceedings.
- Ability to manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in complex commercial litigation, business disputes, construction litigation, insurance defense, or professional liability.
- Trial experience or significant trial preparation experience.
- Experience working in a large litigation firm environment.
- Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills.
