Job Title: Survey Technician / Survey Crew Chief

Location: Hicksville, NY

Job Type: Full-Time | On-site

We are seeking an experienced Survey Technician / Crew Chief to join a growing, multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying team in the Long Island area. This role offers hands-on experience across a variety of surveying projects and exposure to cutting-edge survey technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys using robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, levels, and 3D laser scanners.
• Process and adjust survey data; prepare survey drawings using Carlson Software and AutoCAD.
• Perform Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, As-Built, ROW, and Flood Elevation Certificate surveys.
• Review and verify work for accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain and organize field equipment, vehicles, and supplies; keep detailed daily survey logs.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and survey team members to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional land surveying experience (field and office).
• Skilled in operating total stations, data collectors, GNSS receivers, digital/automatic levels.
• Proficient in Carlson Software and AutoCAD.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for calculations, stakeouts, and slope measurements.
• Familiarity with surveying standards (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, both in the field and office.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license.
