About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The company is a Denver-based general contractor specializing in the design-build delivery of commercial and industrial construction projects.
This position will work closely with preconstruction, design, and construction teams to develop accurate estimates, coordinate bids, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and support successful project turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Coordinate bids and maintain project documentation.
- Identify and solicit qualified subcontractors and suppliers using project bidding services.
- Review and understand project plans, specifications, and bidding documents.
- Prepare and distribute RFIs to the design team as needed.
- Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
- Assist with project risk analysis and workload due diligence.
- Perform detailed material quantity take-offs.
- Assist with RFP and RFQ responses.
- Support the operations team during project turnover by reviewing project strategy and subcontractor proposals.
- Maintain a professional image in all business interactions.
- Manage multiple projects while working effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Estimating or preconstruction experience.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, trade practices, and market conditions.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, Building Connected, On-Screen Takeoff, and Microsoft Project is a plus.
