We are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager (Procurement) to lead procurement planning, budgeting, vendor management, and preconstruction activities for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure cost-effective procurement strategies and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and preconstruction activities from project planning through project award.
- Develop procurement strategies and sourcing plans for construction materials and services.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, bid packages, and procurement schedules.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and project teams during preconstruction.
- Identify project risks and develop cost-saving opportunities through value engineering.
- Monitor market trends, material pricing, and supplier performance.
- Support project handoff to operations and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience in construction procurement, estimating, or preconstruction management.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and procurement practices.
- Experience managing subcontractor bidding and vendor negotiations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and cost-control skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale commercial, institutional, healthcare, or government projects.
- Knowledge of procurement software and project management systems.
- Experience with value engineering and cost estimating.
