Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical estimating, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. This role will also be responsible for mentoring estimating team members and supporting successful project execution from bid preparation through project handoff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams throughout the bidding process.
- Identify project risks and recommend cost-effective solutions and value engineering opportunities.
- Develop and maintain estimating databases, pricing information, and cost histories.
- Lead, mentor, and support estimating team members.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted within project deadlines.
- Support project handoff to operations following contract award.
Qualifications
- 15 years of mechanical estimating experience.
- Proven experience leading and managing estimating teams.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction estimating.
- Experience interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems.
