Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Parts Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of automotive parts and supplies. Your expertise in supply chain management and customer service will ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, while also providing exceptional support to our clients.
Duties
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize shortages.
- Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and placing orders.
- Utilize ERP systems and order management systems to track parts orders and inventory movements.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and specifications.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to maintain accuracy in data entry and inventory control.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to streamline logistics and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in demand planning by analyzing sales trends and forecasting future needs.
- Maintain knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and OEM specifications to better serve customers.
Skills
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in supplier management, including negotiation skills for procurement.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics and service processes.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and practices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to automotive parts production.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within a warehouse environment.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Proficient in data entry with attention to detail for accurate inventory management.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair and equipment repair.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
- Experience using AS400 or similar software for inventory tracking is advantageous.
