Summary
We are seeking an experienced or aspiring Audio Video Technician to join our dynamic team at TEK-IT. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining advanced home automation and audio/video systems that meet our clients' needs.
Responsibilities
- Implement audio-visual systems for residential and commercial projects.
- Install cabling, hardware, and equipment according to specifications.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on existing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with clients, builders, and subcontractors to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Utilize schematics to guide installation processes effectively.
- Conduct field service visits to address technical issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance service offerings.
- Document installation progress, changes, and service logs in a timely manner.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience in construction.
- Strong knowledge of automation hardware and low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with cabling techniques and installation best practices.
- Ability to use hand tools and follow standard construction methods effectively.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, work orders, and technical specification documents.
- Experience with control systems preferred (Control4 and Lutron preferred, Savant and Crestron accepted).
- Basic software troubleshooting skills.
- Basic project management software knowledge required.
Certifications
- CTS/CTS-I
- IST
- Control4, Lutron, or similar automation certification
