Duties & ResponsibilitiesFood Transport, Delivery & Quality ControlSafe Delivery: Load and transport individual home-delivered meals and bulk foods to community sites and senior residents securely, punctually, and consistently.
Temperature Integrity: Strictly observe all food safety delivery procedures and use temperature-control equipment to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold during transport.
Accuracy Verification: Cross-reference physical cargo against daily delivery slips to ensure every client and meal site receives the exact food and non-food supplies specified.
Kitchen & Service Support: Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to pack, portion, and organize food shipments whenever determined necessary by department leadership.
Policy Compliance: Adhere systematically to established public health standards, department safety rules, and donation box procedures for congregate programs.
Defensive Driving: Maintain absolute adherence to safe driving practices, traffic laws, and transport protocols at all times.
Vehicle Checklists: Complete mandatory daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection checklists, logging interior and exterior cleanliness, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues to the coordinator.
Incident Reporting: Document and report any accidental vehicle damage or roadway incidents immediately following established safety and reporting procedures.
Wellness Monitoring: Act as an essential set of eyes and ears in the field, immediately reporting any visible changes in a client's health, mobility, or living conditions to the Social Services Coordinator.
Administrative Flow: Deliver daily correspondence, invoices, and paperwork between central production kitchens and localized senior meal sites.
Professional Growth: Attend mandatory department meetings, contribute to team cleaning rotations, and maintain strict, ongoing compliance with all HIPAA privacy regulations.
Other duties as needed.
Licensure: A valid California State Driver’s License (Class C) maintained alongside an unencumbered, safe driving record.
Core Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to follow precise oral and written instructions, read maps fluently, and utilize modern GPS navigation systems.
Physical Capability: High physical stamina and manual dexterity; ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb, and kneel frequently.
Lifting Capacity: Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. utilizing core, back, and abdominal muscle strength over extended periods.
Environmental Adaptation: Comfort working around moving mechanical vehicle parts and in outside settings that include inclement weather, high heat, humidity, and occasionally loud environments.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Professional Experience: One (1) or more years of professional driving, commercial delivery, or food service experience.
Specialized Population: Prior experience working directly with seniors, frail older adults, or within a community health framework.
Language Capabilities: Bi-lingual fluency in English/Spanish or English/Cantonese is highly preferred.
Work Type: Full-Time, Permanent Position.
Work Setting: Field-based community transportation and delivery combined with a centralized kitchen/office hub environment.
