What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at tectronIQ, LLC?
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our Managed Services Provider (MSP) team. This is a hands-on technical role supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure across multiple client environments.
You’ll work with servers, Microsoft 365, networks, firewalls, virtualization, backup systems, and other business technology while serving as an escalation resource for our technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Active Directory environments
- Manage Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, permissions, and authentication
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, switches, wireless networks, and other network infrastructure
- Administer virtual environments such as Hyper-V or VMware
- Manage and troubleshoot backup and disaster recovery systems
- Handle complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, network equipment, and client infrastructure
- Perform server, network, Microsoft 365, and infrastructure migrations and upgrades
- Assist with new-client onboarding and technology deployments
- Monitor system health and address performance, reliability, and security issues
- Assist with security initiatives including MFA and vulnerability remediation
- Work with vendors and clients to resolve complex technical issues
- Document procedures, configurations, and system changes
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to other technicians
- Provide remote support and travel onsite to client locations when needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous systems administration, network administration, or equivalent infrastructure experience
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
- Experience administering Microsoft 365
- Strong understanding of networking including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, switching, routing, and Wi-Fi
- Experience administering business-class firewalls
- Experience with virtualization such as Hyper-V or VMware
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently research and resolve complex technical issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple client environments and priorities
- Valid driver's license
MSP experience is preferred but not required.

Schedule
- Full-time, salaried position
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call support as needed
- Occasional travel to client locations

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
