What You Will Be Doing

The IT Software Asset Manager, working in a team environment, is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the necessary processes to manage pertinent information on technology-based software and hardware assets and their status. The immediate focus of this position will be on software asset management (SAM) to understand and control software licensing costs and avoid legal pitfalls related to licensing by leveraging industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise SAM strategies and processes.
• Manage software and hardware asset tracking across the organization.
• Monitor software licensing compliance and resolve licensing issues.
• Maintain accurate asset inventories, records, and lifecycle tracking.
• Integrate SAM processes within the existing ITSM/ServiceNow framework.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting metrics for leadership.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT, procurement, finance, and compliance teams.
• Support software audits and vendor compliance activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), ITAM, or related IT operations roles.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing, compliance, and vendor management.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and ITSM platforms.
• Experience developing SAM policies, processes, and governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desired Skills & Experience

• ITIL, CSAM, CITAM, IAITAM, or ServiceNow certifications.
• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of cloud and SaaS licensing models.
• Experience with CMDB and configuration management.

Pay: $44.80 – $64.00 /hr.
