We’re seeking a dynamic, data-driven architect of scale to step into this high-visibility role and provide strategic guidance to optimize shared services solutions that further enable faculty, researchers, and staff to fully focus on their mission. This role reports directly into the Deputy Chief Information Officer, Operational Excellence & Digital Transformation.


As with all members of the Enterprise Technology team, this role carries core responsibilities, including fostering a sense of belonging and cultivating a culture that is relational, visionary, and empowering. Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,213; depends on experience


Essential Duties:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for Enterprise Shared Services in alignment with ASU’s charter and Enterprise Technology’s strategic priorities based on a shared vision centered around outcomes, stakeholder engagement, execution, and delivery
  • Provide inspirational leadership and coaching to a team of technologists responsible for delivering and supporting a range of services including collaboration tools, communication platforms, digital accessibility, service management, web services and engineering, mergers & acquisitions as well as other technology shared services functions
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, agency, continuous improvement, continuous learning, and accountability toward developing a high-performing team
  • Embrace the Agentic AI era and integrate digital labor into our service delivery models to accelerate outcomes
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, and technology partners across the university to become a trusted partner
  • Develop and implement strategies using industry-proven methodologies and best practices for service ownership and service delivery
  • Establish and monitor metrics to track performance, identify strategic and tactical opportunities, inform decision making, and to tell the story of efficiency and impact
  • Drive strategic direction of a large software and tools portfolio including planning, optimizing value, budget allocation and cost containment, and risk mitigation with supporting business acumen
  • Navigate leadership in a matrix organization while diplomatically driving ruthless prioritization
  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a purpose-driven approach
  • Leverage AI in routine tasks and contribute ideas for using AI to improve the unit’s efficiency and overall performance.
  • Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
  • Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including five (5) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading from the front in a dynamic technology organization
  • 15 years of progressive leadership experience in technology with a strong focus on service delivery and operations
  • Strong technical acumen with 10 years directly responsible for building and delivering technology solutions
  • Effectively and regularly communicates and collaborates with cross-functional teams both inside and outside of a technology organization
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with stakeholders and technology teams from concept to
  • execution through to implementation
  • Willingness to dive into the work, when needed, to demonstrate how work is done to assist in driving initiatives to completion
  • Has a growth mindset and embraces continuous improvement whether refining current
  • frameworks or implementing a new approach
  • Proactively identifies and communicates critical risks to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in a values-driven organization with a strong commitment to inclusion and belonging.
  • Ability to cultivate a psychologically safe environment where all team members can thrive.

Working Environment:

  • Activities primarily take place in a standard, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or moving between office spaces.
  • This role involves regular use of a computer (desktop and/or laptop), including a keyboard and mouse.
  • Effective communication and proficiency with a variety of technologies are essential for collaboration with the broader team.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Regular responsibilities may require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Position is hybrid; must have the ability to have regular on-campus presence
