This is a high-impact role where you’ll play a critical part in driving cost visibility, financial accuracy, and overall project success across a complex, multi-phase initiative.
What You’ll Do
Project Cost Control & Oversight
- Own end-to-end cost tracking across a large-scale capital project
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and detailed cost reports
- Monitor actuals vs. forecast and proactively identify variances and risks
- Build and maintain cost structures (WBS, cost codes, tracking systems)
Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles
- Support cash flow planning, scenario modeling, and contingency analysis
- Provide accurate financial insights to executive stakeholders
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Deliver clear, executive-level reporting on project cost performance
- Partner with project managers, procurement, engineering, and finance teams
- Translate financial data into actionable insights for decision-making
Risk & Change Management
- Track and assess change orders, claims, and scope adjustments
- Identify cost risks early and implement mitigation strategies
- Support contract compliance and vendor cost validation
Process & Systems Improvement
- Implement and enhance cost control methodologies and tools
- Improve reporting automation, accuracy, and efficiency
- Help establish scalable processes for future project phases
What We’re Looking For
- 8–12 years of experience in project cost control, project controls, or construction/energy finance
- Background in energy, utilities, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and cost analysis
- Proven ability to manage costs on large, complex capital projects
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with tools like Primavera (P6), SAP, Oracle, or similar
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across executive leadership and field teams
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
