Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to provide laboratory oversight and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations. This is a part-time, onsite W2 position located in San Leandro, California. This is not a contract, hybrid, remote, or full-time role.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) – Laboratory Field Services (LFS)
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science
• Completion of the California State Law Quiz on Laboratory Regulations
• No prior experience required
• One (1) year of Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience is preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review CLIA-waived testing procedures
• Perform quality control (QC), instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of point-of-care and rapid diagnostic equipment
• Train, assess, and document competency of Medical Assistants and other staff performing waived testing
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CDPH, and laboratory quality standards
• Conduct periodic on-site audits, workflow validations, and regulatory compliance reviews
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and quality records
