Job Title: Financial Aid Advisor
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL – Cypress Creek (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract to Hire
We are seeking an experienced Financial Aid Advisor to support students throughout the financial aid process. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in higher education financial aid who are comfortable reviewing applications, determining eligibility, reconciling financial aid records, and providing individualized guidance to students.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students regarding financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and application processes.
- Review and process financial aid applications and supporting documentation.
- Verify financial aid data and determine basic student eligibility.
- Certify grants, loans, and scholarship awards through income and budget analysis.
- Analyze financial aid records within federal systems, including:
- National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
- Federal Common Origination and Disbursement System (COD)
- Federal Central Processing System
- Assist with construction and reconciliation of financial aid files for state and federal reporting.
- Identify and manually reconcile discrepancies when system limitations prevent automated processing.
- Research and resolve problematic financial aid transactions.
- Coordinate with other departments to address day-to-day processing issues.
- Maintain accurate financial aid data and documentation.
- Provide professional and effective service to students and employees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience where applicable.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within financial aid or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of higher education financial aid practices, policies, and procedures.
- Experience analyzing and reconciling financial aid data.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and specialized computer systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and student-service skills.
Ideal Background
Candidates with direct experience working in a college or university financial aid environment and hands-on exposure to financial aid eligibility, award processing, reconciliation, student counseling, and federal financial aid systems will be especially well aligned with this opportunity.

- Location: On-site work will be in Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Duration: 3–6 months
