Primary Function
The accountant is responsible for specialized accounting functions of General Ledger Management, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting and Fixed Asset Management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Accounting Manager under the Deputy CFO, the following duties and responsibilities noted are the essential functions of the job.
- Maintains Accounts Receivable and Prepaid Expenses schedules on a monthly basis.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliation for MBN’s operating and savings accounts.
- Prepares journal entries deemed necessary to correct and timely reconcile all G/L accounts: specifically those related to cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payables, accrued expense, and other liabilities accounts.
- Identifies errors and risks that could have a financial impact on the company’s financial statements in accordance with company policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepares special reports and financial studies for management and alerts them to significant variances from the approved annual budget.
- Assists in the preparation of preparing schedules for the annual audit conducted by the company’s independent auditors.
- Maintains and updates the Fixed Asset schedule in the system monthly by coordinating with the Facilities department staff all items are recorded in the BarCloud.
- Assist with the processing of the weekly A/P processing.
- Processes travel and expense reimbursements.
- Processes corporate credit card transactions by coordinating with the cardholders
- Assisting with the preparation of 1099’s.
Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, cost accounting and general ledger entry process/reconciliation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of U.S. federal and state financial regulations to include payroll tax laws and wage and hour regulations.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- ERP, DELTEK Costpoint 7 experience preferred.
- Knowledge of funds management and budgeting techniques helpful but not required.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Experience
- BA/BS in accounting, finance, business, or related field.

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
