Position Summary
The Part-Time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides comprehensive primary care services to adolescent and adult patients within an integrated healthcare setting. This role includes patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, and preventive care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support whole-person health outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain detailed medical histories and perform physical examinations
- Diagnose acute and chronic conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe medications in accordance with Michigan law and professional practice guidelines, including controlled substances (Schedules III–V) under physician supervision
- Perform minor medical procedures within scope of practice
- Review, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKGs) in a timely manner
- Coordinate referrals to specialty providers as needed
- Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and support staff across multiple sites
- Educate patients on disease prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle practices
- Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and provider meetings as scheduled
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and meet productivity expectations for part-time providers
- Comply with infection control standards, organizational policies, and state and federal regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Family Nurse Practitioner required)
- Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan
- DEA registration or eligibility under physician delegation (Schedules III–V)
- Malpractice insurance or ability to obtain coverage
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience in primary care, family medicine, or integrated care preferred (new graduates encouraged to apply if licensed)
