What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineering Intern position at Team Horner?
Reports to: Production Engineering Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt, Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineering Intern is a motivated self-starter who is disciplined, reliable, and hard working. A focused, active, problem-solver, this individual combines a good technical and learning aptitude with perseverance, determination, and high-level critical thinking and analytical skills.
This individual will assist in the evaluation, documentation, implementation, and improvement of quality and production processes. An outstanding communicator, the production quality engineer will interact with internal and external teammates and customers and provide detailed and timely responses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with RMA processing and supplier corrective actions, including failure investigation, vendor coordination, and ensuring timely resolution of quality issues
- Analyze quality processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall product quality
- Assist in quality testing and inspection of products or systems
- Help identify, document, and track defects or non-conformances
- Collect and analyze quality data and metrics
- Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues
- Assist with process audits and inspections
REQUIREMENTS:
- Positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Excellent analytical skills including problem solving and attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Regularly required to stand for periods of time as well as reaching, kneeling, and climbing
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
