The Sioux Center Schools are looking for energetic and compassionate individuals to join our Intermediate School Special Education Team to help our special needs students for the 26-27 school year. This is a full-time position starting August 25, 2026
Basic Function of the Position: Assist students and teachers in the learning environment.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
High School Graduate
Ability to work with people
Ability to organize and maintain files and materials
Desirable:
Past para-professional experience
Duties and tasks of the Position
- Assist students in the modifications to their individual education program.
- Maintain group discipline in an education setting.
- Organize education material or ideas.
- Establish & maintain relationships with students.
- Mentor students on their study and life skills.
- Monitor student classroom activities.
- Use behavior modification techniques.
- Participate in staff training programs.
Employment Information:
Employed by the Sioux Center Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.
- Directly reports to the building principal
- The salary for this position is set by the Sioux Center Community Board of Education and is an hourly rate of pay.
