Position Summary:
The Elementary Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher collaborates with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure that all students have access to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities

Provide direct and indirect instructional services aligned to student goals and needs

Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction

Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and report progress regularly to parents and the IEP team

Conduct formal and informal assessments to inform instruction and eligibility decisions

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations and timelines

Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional learning opportunities

Implement appropriate behavior interventions and support plans as needed
