West Fork CSD is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Secondary Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world application of science concepts while building strong relationships with students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in secondary science (courses may include Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other assigned areas)
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including inquiry-based and hands-on learning
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Integrate technology to enhance student learning
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school improvement
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in school and district initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate Science endorsement (or ability to obtain)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Endorsements in multiple science areas
- Experience with STEM, project-based learning, or career-connected education
