Community Christian School is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher for Grades K–8 to join our Christ-centered learning community on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will teach general music and choir for K–8 students, and beginning band for middle school students, while nurturing musical growth and integrating Christian values into instruction.
Responsibilities:
- Teach general music and choir classes for students in Grades K–8
- Teach beginning band for middle school students (Grades 5–8)
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that build musical skills, knowledge, and appreciation
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, and personal growth through music
- Plan and lead performances, concerts, and special music events
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a positive, organized, and safe learning environment
- Collaborate with staff and participate in school activities as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field preferred
- Experience teaching general music, choir, and/or beginning band to elementary and middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
- Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Community Christian School
Faith Requirement:
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and values of Community Christian School
- Ability to model Christian character and integrate faith into classroom instruction
- Applicant must agree with the school's Statement of Faith.
Schedule:
