Alta-Aurelia Community School District is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher. The Elementary Special Education Teacher supports students with disabilities by providing individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and collaborating with staff to ensure student success in an inclusive elementary setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with IDEA and Iowa regulations
- Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students
- Modify curriculum and use data to monitor student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Communicate with families and participate in IEP meetings
Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa teaching license with endorsement in Instructional Strategist I or II (Special Education)
- Preferred: BD (Behavioral Disorders) endorsement or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of IEP processes, behavior supports, and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
