Job Summary
TBI Assessment Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation services for patients experiencing concussion, traumatic brain injury (TBI), balance, and vestibular-related conditions. The ideal candidate will be experienced or interested in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation and committed to developing individualized treatment plans that support each patient’s recovery and functional goals.
Duties
- Evaluate patients experiencing concussion-related, vestibular, balance, and functional impairments
- Develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans based on evaluation findings and physician recommendations
- Provide vestibular rehabilitation and balance therapy
- Perform therapeutic exercises addressing balance, coordination, gait, mobility, and functional limitations
- Assist patients experiencing dizziness, motion sensitivity, visual-motion intolerance, and post-concussion symptoms
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate
- Educate patients regarding exercises, recovery strategies, fall prevention, and home exercise programs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Communicate patient progress and clinical concerns with referring and interpreting providers
- Collaborate with our concussion/TBI assessment team to provide coordinated patient care
- Assist management with developing appropriate therapy protocols and workflows as the rehabilitation program expands
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable professional standards
Experience
- Current and unrestricted Florida Physical Therapist license
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Experience with or strong interest in vestibular rehabilitation and concussion management
- Proven experience practicing in a physical therapy role within outpatient clinics, hospitals, or inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards necessary for accurate record keeping.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems is essential.
- Prior outpatient rehabilitation center experience
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and working collaboratively with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent client communication skills to motivate patients and ensure understanding of treatment goals.
- Comfortable working with patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents and other traumatic injuries
