We’re partnering with a leading industrial distribution organization to hire a State Tax Senior Accountant. This role sits on a high-impact tax team and offers visibility, leadership exposure, and the opportunity to drive process improvements across a multi-state footprint.

Key Responsibilities:
State & Local Tax
- Manage and review state income/franchise tax filings, provisions (ASC 740), and apportionment
- Oversee multi-state compliance and estimated payments
- Track legislative changes and assess impact
Sales & Use Tax
- Manage sales & use tax filings across jurisdictions
- Maintain nexus analysis and taxability rules
- Oversee CertCapture exemption certificates
- Partner with IT/Operations on system integrations
Audit Advisory
- Lead state tax audits (income sales/use) end-to-end
- Identify and mitigate tax risk exposure
- Partner cross-functionally across finance, legal, and operations
What They’re Looking For
- 6 years of state & local tax experience
- Strong exposure to state income tax sales & use tax
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 or regional)
- Experience supervising staff (direct oversight of 2 )
- Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance
Nice to Have:
- CPA, MST, or JD
- Property tax exposure
- Experience with OneSource or Corptax
