Scope of Position
The Storekeeper/Receiving Agent is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing hotel merchandise. Also assisting in daily and month end inventories and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
- Minimum of 1 -2-year experience in a similar position or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Fort Lift Certification is a plus.
- General knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook.
- Thorough knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a plus.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Receive and stage merchandise by department, mark appropriate for placement in facility, and deliver merchandise to appropriate department.
- Inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality.
- Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
- Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
- Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.
- Follow company and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain the sanitation standards of the food storeroom and walk-ins.
- Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash and place in proper storage areas.
- Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist department supervisor/manager with special projects as needed.
- Perform any other duties required by management.
Education
- High school diploma, additional education in accounting a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements
- On a continuous basis, sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies.
- Use telephone and computer keyboard daily.
- Must be physically fit to stand, walk, bend, lift to 100lbs and push carts ranging from 200lbs 500lbs.
