Radiologic Technologist – Weekend Program

Overview

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic general radiological procedures utilizing various imaging equipment to assist in diagnosis of disease and injuries.

We are seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our weekend program team, providing essential diagnostic imaging services across a comprehensive range of modalities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in medical imaging, including urgent care, emergency room settings, and advanced procedures such as PET scans and interventional radiology. Your expertise will support accurate diagnostics, uphold radiation safety protocols, and enhance patient outcomes through precise imaging techniques.

Duties

• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT scans, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine studies with precision and adherence to established protocols.
• Operate complex medical equipment such as PET scanners, interventional radiology tools, and ultrasound devices for sonography.
• Assist in emergency situations by providing rapid imaging support within Level I trauma centers and Level II trauma center environments.
• Implement radiation safety standards diligently to protect patients and staff during all imaging procedures.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to optimize image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
• Ensure proper aseptic technique during invasive procedures and maintain sterile fields when necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to facilitate diagnostic evaluations in urgent care, emergency medicine, and specialized radiology services.
• Document all procedures accurately within electronic medical records while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support ongoing quality assurance initiatives by calibrating equipment and adhering to safety guidelines.
• Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and participate in continuous professional development.

Skills

• Extensive experience with urgent care settings, emergency room procedures, and interventional radiology techniques.
• Proficiency in operating advanced imaging modalities including PET scans, CT, mammography, DEXA scans, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound (sonography).
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
• Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations efficiently while maintaining high standards of image quality.
• Familiarity with implementing radiation safety protocols and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• Skilled in the operation of various medical equipment used for diagnostic imaging.
• Excellent understanding of aseptic techniques necessary for invasive procedures.
• Experience working within Level I trauma centers or similar high-acuity environments is highly desirable.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced clinical settings.
• Commitment to ongoing education on emerging technologies and best practices in radiologic technology.

Required Education:
Associates Degree in Related Field OR Certificate of completion for Radiology Program
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-IEMA (Illinois state) License in Rad Technology, BLS (American Heart Assoc.), ACLS (American Heart Assoc.), ARRT Registration in Radiology
