Our client, a well-established construction firm on Long Island, is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their team. This role is ideal for a professional who can lead the estimating function, manage bids from start to finish, and contribute to overall project strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full bid lifecycle, from initial document review through final submission
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership to align estimates with budgets and strategic goals
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, and equipment
• Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure accurate scope coverage
• Perform quantity takeoffs to support precise and competitive bidding

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to produce competitive bids and successfully win projects
• 5 years of construction estimating experience, with a focus on electrical projects
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• High attention to detail with strong organizational capabilities
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents accurately
