Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Provide instruction on golf techniques, rules, and sportsmanship to student-athletes.
- Help organize and supervise team competitions, including home and away matches.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes to ensure eligibility.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, integrity, and sportsmanship.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the golf program.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on coaching techniques and best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic director.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching golf at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the golf season.
- A genuine interest in the development and well-being of student-athletes.
