The Educational Assistant will work closely with teachers and staff to provide individualized support to students, assist in classroom management, and contribute to the overall development of each child.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, catering to diverse learning needs.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Prepare instructional materials and resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Assist with classroom management, including maintaining order and supporting students in following school rules.
- Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for all students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the learning and development of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and administrators.
- Basic proficiency in technology and willingness to learn new educational software and tools.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus but not mandatory.
