Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct daily practices that enhance the skills and teamwork of the players.
- Develop game strategies and effectively communicate them to the team.
- Monitor and assess player performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Organize and manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, games, and transportation.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and player progress.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and games.
- Uphold and enforce the school's athletic policies and code of conduct.
- Foster sportsmanship and respect among players, coaches, and opponents.
- Attend all scheduled games and practices, maintaining a consistent presence for the team.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or equivalent, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with students, parents, and school staff.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills to inspire young athletes.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
- Ability to commit to the entire season, including practices and games.
- A positive attitude, patience, and a passion for teaching the game of basketball to young athletes.
- Must pass a background check as required by school policy.
Salary : $38,903 - $60,925
