What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller - Private Equity position at Taurus Search?
Taurus has been hired to bring on a strong Assistant Controller who has the professional maturity and capabilities to quickly ascend to Controller. The ideal candidate have a strong history in public and private accounting within the asset management sector, particularly with Private Equity. This is a young fund with about 5 years in the business sitting at $3B in AUM. An agile and broad-skilled individual will be successful in this role and have the ability to grow alongside this organization.
Responsibilities
- Handle the fund accounting process, including month end close and financial statements
- Work with auditors, fund administrators and tax providers
- Quarterly valuations and provide information and reporting to senior leadership
- Run management company accounting and reporting functions
- Work alongside investor relations on various projects on an ad hoc basis
- Support CFO in all financial matters of the organization
- Work closely with CFOs of portfolio companies for reporting needs and financial oversight
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
- 5-8 years experience in accounting
- Previous experience in Big Six accounting firms required
- CPA highly preferred
- Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
