We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team at a leading commercial architecture and engineering firm in Exton, PA. In this crucial role, you'll manage the financial life cycle of multiple projects, from initial setup to final closeout. You'll work closely with project managers and other key stakeholders, providing essential financial insights that help keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis.
- Billing & Invoicing: Prepare and submit accurate and timely project invoices that align with contract terms.
- WIP Management: Monitor and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) reports to ensure proper revenue recognition and identify potential project issues.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, such as job cost reports and profitability analyses.
- Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities adhere to company policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contract Review: Review project contracts to understand all billing requirements and financial terms.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with project managers to monitor project performance and provide strategic financial guidance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to project accounting processes and systems.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to project financials.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the architecture, engineering, or professional services industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project accounting software (e.g., Deltek, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Reporting Structure: The Senior Project Accountant will report directly to the Controller or Director of Finance.
