Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant role based in Memphis, TN. The Staff Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger postings, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing tasks. The role will assist with preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting budgeting and forecasting. The Staff Accountant will also help ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, coordinate with external vendors and internal teams, and provide financial data and reports to management as needed. This position works closely with operations and leadership to support informed decision-making and the financial health of the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and practices, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Experience using accounting software and productivity tools (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office applications).
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and with external partners.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in a small to mid-sized business or technology services environment is a plus.
- Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and continuous learning in the accounting field.
