Purchasing Apprentice

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Apprentice to oversee inventory control and manage vendor pricing updates across multiple locations. This critical role ensures accurate inventory levels, timely pricing adjustments, and smooth coordination with vendors and internal teams to support operational efficiency and profitability. Must have the ability to communicate with the team and vendors effectively. Looking for someone with interest in computers and willing to apply it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and update pricing from vendors to ensure accurate product pricing across all locations.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory records, including stock levels, transfers, and adjustments.
• Monitor and report on inventory discrepancies, slow-moving items, and overstocked products.
• Implement and maintain pricing strategies based on market conditions, vendor updates, and internal goals.
• Work closely with vendors to obtain pricing changes, new product updates, and availability.
• Utilize inventory management and POS systems to analyze and report on key metrics.
• Coordinate product availability and distribution between branches to support customer demand.
• Ability to do basic mental math on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

• Experience in inventory control, pricing management, or related roles.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and inventory management software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working with vendors and multi-location operations is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of the automotive parts or collision repair industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with vendor catalogs, pricing sheets, and wholesale product databases.
• Ability to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and propose practical solutions.
• Mental math is a must.
