Job Summary
The Automotive Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our dealership's accounting operations. Previous automotive dealership deal posting experience is strongly preferred, and candidates with CDK experience will receive special consideration.
Responsibilities
- Post new and used vehicle deals accurately and efficiently.
- Verify deal paperwork for completeness before posting.
- Process funding paperwork and ensure contracts are complete.
- Balance daily deposits, including cash, checks, credit cards, and electronic payments.
- Audit accounting schedules and identify discrepancies.
- Stock in new and used vehicle inventory, ensuring vehicle costs, floorplan information, titles, and factory invoices are entered correctly.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Process invoices and customer payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records through timely and precise data entry.
- Assist with month-end closing responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and accounting procedures.
- Support the Controller and Office Manager with additional accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business preferred).
- Automotive dealership accounting experience required.
- Deal posting experience is strongly preferred.
- CDK Drive experience preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of dealership accounting procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Professional communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.
