Bookkeeper/Office Assistant – Construction Services

Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a Construction Services firm to hire a personable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Office Assistant with QuickBooks experience who will work closely with the Controller to play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day administrative and financial tasks.

Location: Manorville, Long Island

As the Bookkeeper/Office Assistant, you will:

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and verifying accuracy of entries in QuickBooks.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and manage payroll preparation and distribution.
• Assist the Controller with special projects or administrative duties.
• Coordinate office administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining records and filing systems.
• Collaborate with the construction team to ensure efficient project-related operations and support.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall company goals.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Bookkeeper, Office Assistant, or similar role; construction or related industry experience preferred.
• Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Competencies: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication abilities, and ability to prioritize.
