Job Overview
We are looking for an organized, efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
The Accounting Clerk will assist in reconciling daily and monthly reconciliations of credit card statements and bank statements. They will also generate customized operational reports and assist in the functions of posting customer payments and processing vendor invoices.
Duties
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit cards, and ledger accounts
- Accurately code and enter financial data into systems.
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Scanning and posting checks for deposit
- Reconciling posting totals to deposits
- Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, and issue customer billing.
- Posting disbursements that require checks
- Processing all AP batches created by Data
- Creating disbursement checks both automatically and manually through QuickBooks
- Maintaining and updating customer files.
- Researching customer discrepancies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Generate customized operational reports.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. You must be comfortable utilizing VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Macros/VBA to streamline data analysis.
- Experience and ability to efficiently use Quickbooks is a Plus
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred.
- At least one year of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting clerk experience
