Position Summary
The Scheduling & Expediting Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and adjusting production schedules to support efficient manufacturing operations and timely customer delivery. This role coordinates with cross-functional teams to align production plans with material availability, capacity constraints, and customer requirements. The position utilizes ERP and planning systems to monitor production performance, manage shipment readiness, and support on-time-in-full (OTIF) objectives.
This is an onsite position.
Essential Job Functions

- Translate SIOP monthly targets into detailed production schedules based on customer demand and operational capacity.
- Balance demand and supply by developing production plans that consider manufacturing capabilities, equipment availability, and supplier lead times.
- Monitor and support appropriate inventory levels to reduce service disruptions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Planning, Finance, and Shipping to ensure alignment on production priorities and delivery commitments.
- Monitor execution of the Master Production Schedule and recommend adjustments as needed to maintain production adherence.
- Coordinate labor and equipment utilization to support production targets.
- Support multi-plant production scheduling processes and material flow coordination.
- Identify and recommend process improvements and best practices within supply chain operations.
- Provide analytical support for operational initiatives and projects.
- Review load schedules and compare inventory and production plans to ensure shipment readiness.
- Communicate proactively with shipping and operations teams regarding material availability and delivery timelines.
- Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems, scheduling tools, and reporting platforms.
- Support strategic planning initiatives through production-related analysis.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities related to forecast accuracy, fill rates, inventory levels, and safety stock.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Experience with ERP systems preferred
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Professional supply chain certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of relevant or equivalent experience
- Supply chain, manufacturing, or production planning experience preferred
Work Schedule
Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with overtime as business needs require
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office and manufacturing environment and may require time spent on the production floor.
