Intermediate System Administrator (DOE/WIPP Systems)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Intermediate System Administrator to join our team in Carlsbad. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, with a focus on maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure while ensuring system reliability and security.

📍 Location: Carlsbad, NM

⏰ Work Mode: Work From Office

💼 Role: Intermediate System Administrator

Pay: $35 - $55 per hour

What You'll Do

 Support system operations, installations, upgrades, and backups for

Linux, Solaris, and Windows environments.

 Maintain BeeGFS storage systems, servers, and network performance.

 Implement and manage scripts and automation tools (PowerShell,

Bash, Python) for operational efficiency.

 Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance issues.

 Assist with configuration management, security compliance, and QA

documentation.

 Participate in NQA-1 audits and maintain compliance documentation

for DOE/WIPP systems

What We’re Looking For

 Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related discipline and 6

years relevant experience.

 OR associate degree and 8 years.

 OR 10 years equivalent experience.

 Minimum 6 Months Experience Maintaining High-performance Systems

under NQA-1 QA or similar regulated environment.

 Familiarity with Linux, Solaris, and Windows servers.

 Certifications: Bacula Systems Administrator, CompTIA A ,

Network , Security , or Project (at least one required).

 Experience in database and website administration, and remote

network/system maintenance.
