Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor communications with parents and staff
  • Assist with stocking and serving snacks and lunch
  • Monitor and oversee building/space capacities
  • Oversee and maintain guest checked bags
  • Assist instructors with the physical/emotional needs of each child
  • Assist custodians with janitorial needs as they arise
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, including handling situations involving children’s bathroom accidents
  • At times may be directly responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in children’s programs
  • Assist with building layout and transitions based on operational schedule 
  • Assist with other areas of Snowsports School operations as needed
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with
  • Supervisors and Managers when urgent situations arise 
  • Recognizes that service is our product and helping guests have a great Taos experience is our primary job
  • Serve as a public relations representative for Taos, both on and off the job
  • Initiate contact and greet guests in a friendly, helpful, and respectful manner
  • Look for ways to better serve the guest, Snowsports, and Taos Ski Valley 
  • Must be able to clearly communicate information to guests and co-workers 
  • Listens to guest needs and concerns, then communicates the message to management
  • Participates with the team essential for the success of the Guest, Instructor, Snowsports School and Area
  • Complies with Taos employee handbook and
  • Snowsports procedures and policies
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:

 

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and families
  • Genuinely enjoys children and giving them quality attention
  • Ability to work independently, without close supervision
  • Willing and able to complete CPR training (training available through company) 
  • Possesses excellent verbal communication skills and is comfortable using computers and technology in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Available to work during Christmas, President’s
  • Weekend, and Spring Break peak periods
  • At times may be solely responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in the Rio Hondo Learning Center 
  • Maintains personal safety as a top priority
  • Is responsible for information; emails, newsletters, informational websites, bulletin boards, memos and required meetings
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays (Including Christmas), and evenings

 

 

Work Environment: 

 

  • Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff
  • This position is 85% indoors and 15% outdoors

 

 

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. 

 

 

Physical Demands of Position Include: 

 

  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying children of all sizes, up to 50 pounds, throughout the course of the day
  • Must be able to bend and move from standing to squat and kneel positions several times throughout the day
  • Must be able to walk up and down two flights of stairs several times per shift; must be agile, sure-footed, and cautious on slippery surfaces
  • Must be prepared to accompany children and instructors outside in changing and potentially extreme weather conditions
